I connected the external operation signal FWD input/REV input to the BMU series and turned the input ON, but it doesn't work. Why doesn't it work?

Please check the following three points:

  1. The "External operation signal input" parameter (ioEn) is set to "on" or "rE".
The above parameter is set to "OFF" as the factory setting. (External operation signal input is disabled.)

To operate with an external operation signal, the parameter must be changed to "on" or "rE".

The difference between "on" and "rE"

on : Front panel operation is enabled

rE : Front panel operations are disabled

For detailed parameter settings, please refer to the BMU series instruction manual .

  2.  Is the driver's operation switch in the RUN position (right side)?

The operation when the FWD input/REV input is turned ON differs depending on the direction of the operation switch and the parameter mode setting. (See the table below for details.)

If you set the "External operation signal input" parameter (ioEn) to "on", turn the operation switch to RUN, then turn the FWD input/REV input to ON.

(The motor will not move in the STAND-BY state because the front panel is active.)

   3. The input may not be ON in the I/O monitor, or the input signal may not be connected correctly. You can check the ON/OFF status in the driver's I/O monitor.
