# For the AZ Series with built-in positioning function, is it possible to use FA network control and direct input/output at the same time?

Remote I/O via FA network control or Modbus communication and direct I/O can be used together.

When the same input signal is assigned to remote I/O and direct I/O, the function will be executed if either input is present.

The C-ON input \*1 and HMI input \*2 are always ON when not assigned to an input terminal.

Also, when assigned to both remote I/O and direct I/O, they will not function unless both are ON.

\*1 C-ON input

When it is turned ON, the motor is excited.

\*2 HMI input

When set to ON, the function restrictions of the support software MEXE02 are lifted.
