I am using an αSTEP AZ EtherNet/IP compatible driver. Is direct I/O wiring required?

Ethernet/IP Direct I/Os

Wiring the direct I/O is not required when using an αSTEP AZ Series Ethernet/IP compatible drive as everything can be done remotely.
However, wiring is required in the following cases:

  • For safety reasons, I would like to use positive and negative limit switch sensors.
  • I want to perform return-to-home operation using a homing sensor.
  • I want to input I/O using a switch, etc.
  • I want to physically check the output

Direct I/O allocation can be changed using the support software MEXE02 or EtherNet/IP communications.

* Changes to the direct I/O signal allocation are reflected by reconfiguring or restarting the power.
