Importance of the capacitor for AC induction motors
This is to rotate a single-phase AC motor in a specific direction.
The role of a capacitor is to shift the phase of a single-phase AC motor and generate a rotating magnetic field.
This action creates the starting torque that causes the motor to rotate in the set direction.
Oriental motor's AC motors are the Permanent Split Capacitor (PSC) type, which means the capacitor has to be connected all the time for proper motor performance.
If the capacitor is not connected, the single-phase AC motor may not run, may rotate in reverse, or may start rotating at unintended times. If a capacitor is indicated on the product connection diagram, be sure to connect the included capacitor.
